10-Minute Relearn Procedure
NOTE:
When replacing theft deterrent control module with GM SPO replacement part, set up theft deterrent control module prior to 10-minute or 30-minute relearn procedures.
- Install scan tool.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
- Ensure all power consuming devices are turned off.
- Using scan tool, select REQUEST INFO under SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM and follow scan tool on-screen instructions.
- Disconnect scan tool from vehicle and connect to Techline Terminal with current Service Programming System (SPS) software.
- Using Techline Terminal, select SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM and follow Techline Terminal on-screen instructions.
- Disconnect scan tool from Techline Terminal and reconnect to vehicle.
- Using master key, turn ignition switch to RUN position.
- Using scan tool, select program ECU under SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM.
- Scan tool must remain connected for duration of 10-minute relearn procedure.
- Observe scan tool, after about 10 minutes scan tool will display PROGRAMMING SUCCESSFUL. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Vehicle is now ready to relearn key information and/or passwords next time ignition switch is turned from LOCK to RUN position.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position and wait 5 seconds.
- Using master key, start vehicle. Theft deterrent control module has now learned key transponder information and PCM has now learned fuel continue password.
- Using scan tool, clear any DTCs.
NOTE:
On some vehicles SECURITY indicator light may be illuminated for duration of 10-minute relearn procedure.
