DTC P0325: Knock Sensor Module Performance: Description
Knock Sensors (KS) produce an AC signal when specific frequencies are detected. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) calculates average voltage range of each KS signal. If KS system is operating properly, PCM should monitor KS voltage varying to more than and less than a calculated average voltage. KS system monitors both knock sensors in order to determine if knock is present. If KS system determines excessive knock is present, PCM retards spark timing based on signals from KS system. PCM retards timing until no knock is present.
