Section 17 (Front Axle): Removal

Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Remove both front halfshafts. Refer to REMOVAL .
Remove the front axle disconnect assembly. Refer to DISCONNECT, FRONT AXLE, REMOVAL .
Remove the front driveshaft. Refer to REMOVAL .
Remove the Right Hand (RH) catalytic converter/exhaust pipe assembly. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL .

Separate the power steering return line (3) from the cradle by unfastening the clips (1).

Remove the front axle housing support bracket (1).

Remove the front axle housing-to-engine bolts.
Remove the front axle assembly (1) from vehicle.
