Engine Code Explanation

The engine can be identified by a code letter found in two locations on the vehicle: the engine build plate and within the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The numbers on the engine build plate represent the year, month and day that the engine was built. The code letter represents the engine cubic inch displacement and carburetor type. This code letter will be the same as that found in the VIN.
