Ignition Control Module: Service and Repair

Exploded View Of TFI Ignition System Distributor.:

Removal
1. Remove distributor as described under Distributor, Replace.
2. Remove two screws attaching TFI module to distributor housing, Fig. 2.
3. Pull righthand side of module downward toward distributor mounting flange, then up to disengage module terminals from connector in distributor base. Pull toward flange and away from distributor.

Installation
1. Apply a 1/32 inch thick coating of silicone grease D7A2-19A331-A or equivalent to metal base of TFI module.
2. Position TFI module on distributor mounting flange.
3. Carefully position TFI module toward distributor base to securely engage the three distributor connector pins.
4. Install two TFI module attaching screws and torque to 9 to 16 inch lbs.
5. Install distributor as described under Distributor, Replace.
