Airflow Meter

  1. Connect voltmeter to pins 10 and 12 of ECA plug J1. Voltmeter should read 0.2-0.5 volts with ignition on/engine off and 1.35-2.7 volts with engine running. If voltage reading is correct, check ECA plugs for damage or corrosion and correct as necessary. If problem still exists, replace ECA.
  2. If voltage reading is incorrect, check harness as follows: Turn ignition off and disconnect ECA and airflow meter. Connect an ohmmeter between ground and each of pins 10, 11 and 12 at ECA plug J1. If continuity exists at any pin, a short to ground is indicated and must be repaired.
  3. Check continuity of wires leading from pins 10, 11 and 12 to airflow meter. Repair any open circuits as necessary. If no opens or shorts to ground are present, and problem still exists, replace airflow meter.
