ECT Input Low (Code 61)
- Turn ignition off and wait 10 seconds. Disconnect ECT connector. Perform Key On - Engine Off Test. Check for code 51. If code 51 is present, replace ECT sensor and repeat Quick Test. If code 51 is not present, proceed with test.NOTE: Any time shorts or opens are present during testing, the same code will be generated in Continuous Test.
- Turn ignition off and wait 10 seconds. Disconnect processor and inspect both 60 pin connectors. Connect breakout box to harness and leave processor disconnected. With ACT sensor disconnected, measure resistance between breakout box pin 7 and breakout box pins 40 and 60. If any resistance is 10,000 ohms or less, repair short in harness and repeat Quick Test. If all resistances are more than 10,000 ohms, replace processor and repeat Quick Test.
