Ego Sensor Test (Code 43)

  1. Disconnect grounded jumper wire from self-test connector. Run vehicle at 2,000 RPM for 2 minutes. Perform Engine Running Test and record codes. Check for code 43. If code 43 is not present, repair other service codes as necessary. If code 43 is present, proceed with test.
  2. Check for exhaust leaks. If any leaks are found, repair as necessary and repeat Quick Test. Otherwise, proceed with test.
  3. If idle quality remains poor during and after the Engine Running Test, problem is not EEC related, check FBC solenoid for sticking and check fuel system operation. If idle quality improves during and after the Engine Running Test, replace EGO sensor and repeat Quick Test.
