Coolant Temperature Sensor

  1. Unplug harness from ECA and install Breakout Box. Leave processor disconnected. Unplug ECT sensor connector. Measure resistance from pin 7 to 40 and from 7 to 60.
  2. Resistance should be more than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is less, check wiring harness for a short to ground. Measure resistance directly across sensor. Values should be as specified in Coolant Temperature Sensor Resistance table. If not, replace sensor.
