Barometric Pressure Sensor

  1. Disconnect sensor. Turn key "ON" with engine off. Measure reference voltage between Orange/White wire and ground. If 4-6 volts, go to step 2). If not 4-6 volts, repair open circuit or faulty ECA.
  2. Measure signal return voltage between Black/White wire and ground. If there is a reading of 10 volts or more, go to step 3). If less than 10 volts, repair open in circuit and repeat test.
  3. Turn key "OFF". Unplug harness from BAP and ECU. Measure resistance between Lt. Green/Black and Black/White wires. Also measure between Lt. Green/Black and Orange/White wires.
  4. If any reading is less than 10,000 ohms, repair short in harness. If both are more than 10,000 ohms, sensor harness is OK. If electrical circuit is OK but a Service Code 22 is still present, replace BAP sensor.
