Test Connector Locations

The Self-Test connector is found in different locations depending upon model. Front wheel drive models (Escort/Lynx/EXP; Tempo/Topaz) have the Self-Test connector behind right strut tower on firewall. All rear wheel drive unibody models (Thunderbird/Cougar; Mustang/Capri; LTD/Marquis), except Continental/Mark VII models, have the Self-Test connector below starter solenoid between the left strut tower and the battery.

On Continental/Mark VII models, the Self-Test connector is below the coolant reservoir on the right side of the engine compartment. On rear wheel drive models with conventional frames (Crown Victoria; Grand Marquis; Lincoln Town Car), the Self-Test connector is found on the left fender apron near the hood hinge.
