4WD Models
- Raise vehicle on hoist and remove wheel assemblies. Remove upper ball joint cotter pin and nut. Loosen lower ball joint nut and back off nut to end of stud.
- Strike inside of spindle near upper and lower ball joints to break loose from ball joint studs. Remove camber adjustment sleeve. If required, use Pitman Arm Puller (T64P-3590-F) to remove sleeve from spindle.
- Install camber adjustment sleeve on top ball joint stud with arrow pointing outboard for positive camber and the arrow pointing inboard for negative camber. See Fig 1
.NOTE: Zero camber sleeves will not have an arrow and may be rotated in either direction as long as lugs on yoke engage slots in bushing.
- Remove lower ball joint stud nut and discard. Install a new nut on lower ball joint stud nut and tighten to 40 ft. lbs. (54 N.m). Install new nut on top ball joint stud and tighten to 85-100 ft. lbs. (115-136 N.m).
- Advance nut until castellation aligns with cotter pin hole and install cotter pin. Finish tightening lower nut to 95-110 ft. lbs. (129-149 N.m). Reinstall wheel assemblies and lower vehicle. Check camber and adjust toe.
