Fig. 35 Motorcraft FS-6 six cylinder compressor removal:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge refrigerant from system.
3. Disconnect wire connector from clutch field coil connector.
4. Disconnect refrigerant lines from compressor manifolds and cap all open lines.
5. Loosen pivot bolt and remove front and rear adjusting bolts and remove drive belt, Fig. 35.
6. Remove pivot bolt and remove compressor with front and rear braces attached from mounting bracket and vehicle.
7. Remove three screws from front brace and two screws from rear brace and remove both braces from compressor.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Use new O-rings lubricated with refrigerant oil.
9. Leak test, evacuate and charge system. Check system for proper operation.
