Octane Rod, Replace

Fig. 9 Exploded view of TFI-IV ignition system distributor:

1. Remove distributor cap and rotor.
2. Remove octane rod attaching rod from octane adjustment boss.
3. Slide octane rod and grommet out and disengage from stator retaining post, Fig. 9.
4. Reverse procedure to install. Torque attaching screw to 15---35 inch lbs. on front wheel drive models, or 20---30 inch lbs. on rear wheel drive models.
