Diagnostic Procedure

There are 2 diagnostic procedure formats used to test and service the EEC-IV system: QUICK TEST and CIRCUIT TESTS. A DIAGNOSIS BY SYMPTOM test chart is available to identify specific CIRCUIT TESTS.

Always start with the QUICK TEST procedures before attempting any CIRCUIT TESTS. If a vehicle passes the QUICK TEST procedures, the EEC-IV system is okay. Problem exists somewhere else besides the EEC-IV system. If an intermittent driveability problem exists use the KEY ON ENGINE RUNNING (KOER) CONTINUOUS SELF-TEST or WIGGLE TEST to set a code and identify the problem.

NOTE: Procedures in the TESTING section of this article are not in absolute numerical order. Procedures not related to this engine have been removed to eliminate confusion.
