Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect sensor electrical connector from wiring harness.
2. On 1985 - 88 models, scribe alignment marks on throttle body and throttle position sensor for installation reference.
3. On all models, remove two sensor attaching screws and the sensor.
3. Reverse procedure to install. Ensure rotary tangs on sensor are properly aligned, then torque sensor attaching screws to 11 - 16 inch lbs. When installing sensor on 1985 - 88 models, slide rotary tangs over throttle shaft blade, then rotate sensor clockwise to installed position. Failure to perform this operation may result in incorrect idle speeds.
