TFI-IV Stator Check (Except Closed Bowl)

  1. Attach spark tester between secondary ignition coil wire and ground. Crank engine and check for spark. If spark is present, stator is okay. If spark is not present, disconnect TFI-IV stator harness connector.
  2. Install TFI Ignition Tester (105-00002) Red lead to battery positive post. Disconnect "S" terminal wire from starter relay. Attach remote starter and crank engine. LED lights should blink while engine is cranking. If lights do not blink, remove distributor. Remove TFI-IV module from distributor. Measure resistance between TFI-IV module terminals. Perform TFI-IV MODULE test and see Figure. If resistance is NOT as specified, replace stator.
NOTE: All voltage tests should be performed with a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in testing procedures.
