Test 6, Fan Switch No. 1 OPER Check

Disconnect cooling fan switch No. 1. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between switch No. 1 terminal and ground. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms with cold engine. Resistance should be more than 10,000 ohms with engine coolant temperature greater than 177°F (97°C). If resistance checks are NOT okay, replace cooling fan switch No. 1. If resistance values are okay, go to TEST 17  for manual transaxle equipped vehicles. For automatic transaxle equipped vehicles, go to TEST 12 .
