Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation

The throttle position sensor, Fig. 13, detects throttle plate opening angle. It supplies the electronic control assembly with a signal proportional to plate angle. The signal from the throttle position sensor affects, air/fuel ratio, injector timing, engine idle speed, EGR flow, fuel pressure and ignition timing (turbocharged engine). The throttle position sensor is mounted on the end of the primary throttle plate rod.
