Steering Column: Adjustments

Adjust shift indicator cable on Sable and Taurus models as follows:

• On CLC transmission, place shift lever in "DRIVE" position. On AXOD transmission, place shift lever in "OVERDRIVE." Hang an 8 lbs. weight on shift lever to hold lever completely against the shift detent.
• Adjust cable until pointer completely covers the proper letter or number. Tighten hex-head screw to 18-30 INCH lbs. (2-3.4 N.m).
