Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

  1. Disconnect VSS connector. Measure resistance across VSS terminals with DVOM. Resistance should be 200-300 ohms.
  2. Raise vehicle on hoist. Set DVOM to AC volts scale and connect across sensor terminals. While observing voltage reading, operate vehicle on hoist or road test at 20 MPH. Voltage should be 1.5-6.5 volts AC. If resistance test or voltage test are not within specification, replace VSS.
