Test DA: Step 3

3) Check Temperature Sensor Resistance With Engine Off  Turn key off and wait 10 seconds. Disconnect suspect sensor. Set DVOM on 200-k/ohm scale. Measure resistance between sensor signal circuit and SIG RTN circuit at sensor. Refer to charts at the beginning of this Pinpoint Test for resistance specifications.

If resistance is within specifications, do the following:

• ECT sensor with a no start; go to TEST A, step 1).
• ACT and ECT sensors; go to next step.
• VAT sensor; replace ECA, reconnect components and repeat QUICK TEST.

If resistance is not within specifications, do the following:

• ACT sensor; check heat stove duct valve operation. If okay, replace ACT sensor, reconnect components and repeat QUICK TEST.
• ECT sensor; replace ECT sensor, reconnect components and repeat QUICK TEST.
• VAT sensor, refer to VAF component test in I - SYS/COMP TESTS article.
