Temperature Sensor Check

  1. Remove water temperature sensor. Water temperature sensor is located on top left rear side of engine.
  2. Place water temperature sensor in container of water and heat to 176(0)F (80(0)C).
  3. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between case and terminal of water temperature sensor. If ohmmeter reads between 150-180 ohms resistance, temperature sensor is okay. Check cooling system for problem. Repair as necessary. If resistance is not between 150-180 ohms resistance, replace water temperature sensor.
