Drive Belt

To check belt tension for the alternator belt, apply approximately 22 lbs. of pressure to belt. Belt deflection should be .27-.35 inch for a used belt or .27-.35 inch for a new belt.
To check belt tension for the power steering belt, apply approximately 22 lbs. of pressure to belt between pulleys. Belt deflection should be .31-.39 inch for a new belt or .35-.43 inch for a used belt.
