Cold Engine Speed Control


The additional engine speed required during cold engine idle is accomplished by a throttle stop cam positioner similar to the one used on conventional carburetors. A heating element is designed to provide the necessary warm-up time in accordance to the starting temperature (cold engine prior to engine crank) and the length of time after engine start-up. Automatic kickdown from high cam (fast idle) engine speed to an intermediate speed is accomplished by EEC vacuum applied to the automatic kickdown motor.
