Single Switch (Continental)

  1. Remove switch from vehicle. Test with a self-powered test light or ohmmeter. With switch in NEUTRAL position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and 2 and terminals No. 3 and 4. Terminal No. 5 should not have continuity with any other terminal.
  2. Press raised portion of rocker switch (closed position). Continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 5 and terminals No. 3 and 4. Terminal No. 2 should not have continuity with any other terminal.
  3. Press depressed portion of rocker switch (open position). Continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 2 and terminals No. 4 and 5. Terminal No. 3 should not have continuity with any other terminal. See Fig 1 . If switch does not test as described, replace switch.
