Conventional Bleeding: Rear

  1. Ensure hydraulic accumulator is fully charged. Remove dust cap from right rear wheel bleeder fitting. Attach tight fitting hose to bleeder fitting. Submerge other end of hose in container of clean brake fluid.
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. This will allow ABS pump to charge accumulator for this procedure. DO NOT begin bleeding procedure until accumulator is fully charged.
  3. Loosen bleeder fitting while an assistant depresses brake pedal through its full travel. Hold brake pedal in depressed position for 10 seconds at a time. Repeat procedure until air bubbles are no longer present at submerged end of hose. Close bleeder fitting.
  4. Repeat procedure on left rear wheel. When complete, pump brake pedal several times to complete procedure. Check fluid level. See CHECKING & FILLING  .
NOTE: If pump motor runs continuously for 20 minutes, a thermal safety switch will shut off motor to prevent overheating. A 2-10 minute cool down time is required before normal operation will continue.
