Test 42, Check For Saw Short To Ground In Harness

Turn key off, and disconnect ECA. Disconnect EDIS module from EDIS module tee, leaving EDIS diagnostic cable connected to vehicle harness connector. Disconnect Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor (HEGO) connector. Set DVOM to 200-ohm scale. Measure resistance between breakout box pins No. J45 (SAW E) and J7 (BAT -). If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short circuit. Remove all test equipment, and reconnect all components. Clear Continuous Memory, and check for fault codes. If resistance is greater than 100 ohms, reconnect HEGO, and go to next test.
