Test 39, Check Advance Spark Angle

If engine timing is greater than 15 degrees BTDC when EDIS diagnostic cable SAW DETECTOR button is released, EDIS ignition is functioning normally. Go to TROUBLE SHOOTING-NO CODES article for other possible causes of symptoms. If timing is less than 15 degrees BTDC when EDIS diagnostic cable SAW DETECTOR button is released, go to next test.
