Window Regulator: Installation
The glass bracket assembly and regulator assembly are installed into the vehicle as one assembly. The glass bracket assembly may be disassembled from the regulator as described in steps 7 and 8 of REMOVAL procedure.
- Install regulator with pre-assembled glass bracket into vehicle. Set the regulator base plate to door inner panel using base plate locator tab as a guide.
- Install four rivets to attach regulator to door inner panel.
- Install equalizer bracket.
- Install inside door belt weatherstrip and glass stabilizer.
- Lower regulator arms to access holes in door inner panel. Install door glass as outlined.
- Adjust glass to ensure proper alignment with glass run. Cycle glass for smooth operation.
- Install door trim panel and watershield.
NOTE:
Two 1/4-20 x 1 inch bolts and two 1/4-20 nut and washer assemblies may be used as alternates for glass retention. However, torque must not exceed 27-44 INCH lbs. Equivalent metric retainers may be used.
- Lubricate regulator mechanism with Multi-Purpose Grease (DOAZ-19584-AA) or equivalent.
- Install regulator into access hole in inner panel.
- Position regulator using upper regulator studs and tabs on motor mounting bracket.
- Install rivets attaching regulator to inner panel.
- Install two upper regulator attachment nuts.
- Install door glass.
- Adjust glass. See WINDOW MECHANISM under ADJUSTMENTS.
- Reconnect wire to regulator for power window.
- Check operation of window regulator.
- Install door watershield and trim panel.
