Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Body Assembly:

1. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor from the wiring harness.
2. If reinstalling the same TP sensor, mark the position of the TP sensor by scribing a mark on the sensor and throttle body.
3. Remove the TP sensor retaining screws, then remove the TP sensor and gasket.
4. Install a new gasket and the TP sensor, positioning the throttle position sensor so that the connector is facing rearward. Rotate the TP sensor clockwise to align the scribe mark (from step 2).
5. Install the TP sensor retaining screws, tightening to 11-16 lb. in. (1.2-1.8 N-m).
6. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
NOTE: The TP sensor is not adjustable.
