Pressure Switch Check

  1. Start engine. Disconnect pressure switch hose and apply 10.5-11.5 psi (.72-.80 kg/cm2 ) compressed air to switch. Engine should stall or run poorly with air pressure applied. If engine does not function as described, turn ignition off.
  2. Disconnect pressure switch connector. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, apply positive lead to Light Green/Black wire and negative lead to ground. Voltage should be 10 volts with 10.5-11.5 psi (.72-.80 kg/cm2 ) applied, and zero volt with no air pressure applied.
  3. If pressure is not as specified, turn ignition off. With 10.5-11.5 psi (.72-.80 kg/cm2 ) applied, check continuity between switch terminals. Continuity should be present with 10.5-11.5 psi (.72-.80 kg/cm2 ) applied. Continuity should not be present when no air pressure is applied.
