Description & Operation
The power window system consists of three control switches, one lock switch, and two motor and drive switch assemblies.
The passenger's door armrest contains the up/down control switch for the passenger's door window. The driver's door armrest contains LEFT and RIGHT up/down control switches for both the driver's and passenger's door windows. The driver's window has a "one touch down" feature. The driver's window will open fully when the switch is firmly pressed and released. The switch will release when the window is fully opened. The window lock switch for the passenger's door is also located on the driver's door armrest.
When the window lock switch is engaged, the passenger's door window may only be controlled by use of the RIGHT control switch located on the driver's door armrest.
The power windows are regulated by two encased cables. The cables connect the electric motor driven regulator to a slider bracket. See Fig 1 . When the power window switch is operated, the cables move the slider bracket up or down. The slider bracket then moves the window to the desired position. The cables are secured by nylon fasteners inside the door. Lubrication of the cables is not necessary.
