Simulated ECA Solenoid Activation
To further diagnose solenoid, ensure ECA and related circuits are capable of operating solenoid. When test procedure requires simulated ECA solenoid activation, check function of appropriate solenoid. Solenoid should function as follows.
- BOOST - Sudden increase in engine speed to greater than 4500 RPM should activate solenoid.
- CANP - With engine at normal temperature, solenoid should activate during vehicle cruise or acceleration.
- EGRC/EGRV - EGRC solenoid should activate at vehicle cruise. EGRV solenoid should activate at wide open throttle.
- HSIA - Solenoid should activate when engine speed is less than 5000 RPM.
- ISC - Solenoid should activate during engine cranking and running.
- PRC - With engine at normal temperature, solenoid should activate during engine cranking, and should remain activated for one minute after engine is started.
