Fuel Rails (2.2L): Removal

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE. Remove negative battery cable. Remove intake plenum. See INTAKE PLENUM &/OR THROTTLE BODY. Remove electrical connectors from fuel injectors and engine coolant temperature switch (A/T only).
  2. Carefully bend wiring harness retainer brackets away from intake manifold. Remove fuel line from pulsation damper. See FUEL LINE CONNECTOR. Remove fuel return line bracket from intake manifold. Remove fuel return line.
  3. Remove fuel rail attaching bolts, spacers and insulators. Remove fuel rail with injectors, pressure regulator and pulsation damper attached.
