Interactive Self-Test

  1. This test determines integrity of amplifier and will check to see if amplifier is receiving all inputs. As each switch is operated and each circuit input is received by amplifier, a code will be output (test light will flash). If test light flashes indicated code, circuit is okay.
  2. If code does not flash, malfunction is present. See INTERACTIVE SELF-TEST CODES  table. To start Interactive Self-Test, locate amplifier secured to right side of steering column.
  3. Connect a 12 volt test light between Green/White wire terminal and open terminal of amplifier connector. See Fig 1 . Ensure ignition and cruise control are off. Turn ignition on.
  4. On automatic transmission models, move shift lever to DRIVE or REVERSE. Move cruise control switch to RESUME position and hold there. Turn ON/OFF switch to ON position. Release RESUME lever. System is now in Interactive Self-Test. If a repair is made, quick test should be repeated to verify repair.
