Testing Sequence

When trouble shooting the ABS system, use test procedures in the order they are presented. Using other than recommended procedure could result in wasted time and/or unnecessary replacement of parts. Recommended sequence for diagnosing system is PRETEST CHECKS  , ON-BOARD SELF-TESTS using ON-BOARD SELF-TEST TROUBLE CODE INDEX, ABS QUICK CHECK CHART & WARNING LIGHT SYMPTOM SEQUENCE CHART (See Figure , See Figure ) and PINPOINT TESTS  .
