Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

The Manual Lever Position Sensor (MLPS) is mounted on the transmission and is splined to the manual control lever assembly. The sensor sends a signal to the ECA, thereby notifying the ECA of the current transmission operating range.
