Master Switch (Sable & Taurus)
- Remove switch from vehicle and test with a self-powered test light or ohmmeter. With switch in NEUTRAL position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11, and terminals No. 12 and 13. See Fig 1
.
- With lock-out switch button depressed into its detent position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
- With switch in raise right front position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
- With switch in raise right rear position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11.
- With switch in raise left front position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 12 and 13.
- With switch in raise left rear position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9 and 10.
- With switch in lower right front position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 4, 12 and 13.
- With switch in lower right rear position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 11, 12 and 13.
- With switch in lower left front position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 11.
- With switch in lower right rear position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 10, 12 and 13. If switch fails any of these tests, replace switch.
