ABS Service Code Retrieval

  1. Ensure ABS warning light was on (before equipment hookup) in QUICK TESTS QT-3 and QT-4. Turn ignition on. If using Super Star II, turn ignition on, wait 2 seconds then turn tester on. If ABS warning light flashed briefly then went out, system is functioning properly. Check brake system for non-ABS related symptom.
  2. If light is constantly on, record trouble codes. Erase trouble codes. See CLEARING TROUBLE CODES  . Re-attempt trouble retrieval. Record re-created trouble codes. Repair codes as necessary. See Figure . If no codes were re-created, go to QUICK TEST QT-7  .
  3. If light flashes trouble codes, record codes. Erase trouble codes. See CLEARING TROUBLE CODES  . Go to QUICK TEST QT-7  .
