Lock Cylinder (Functional): Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect positive battery cable. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- On models with tilt wheel, remove column end shroud by unsnapping shroud from retaining clip at 9 o'clock position of shroud.
- Disconnect key warning switch electrical connector.
- Turn lock cylinder to RUN position. Locate small hole in casting below lock cylinder. Insert a 1/8" drill bit or punch into hole. Press lock cylinder retaining pin while pulling lock cylinder out of housing.
