Pinpoint Test C - Heated Mirrors Inoperative

  1. Rear Window Defogger Operation Check  - Turn ignition on. Turn rear window defogger on. If rear window defogger does not operate properly, see DEFOGGER - REAR WINDOW article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. If rear window defogger operates properly, go to next step.
  2. Power Supply Check  - Turn ignition off. Unplug rear view mirror motor connectors. Turn ignition on. Turn heated mirror switch on. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage at Black/Blue wire at both mirror motor connectors. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Black/Blue wire(s) in question. If voltage is 10 volts or greater, go to next step.
  3. Ground Check  - Turn ignition off. Unplug rear view mirror motor connectors. Measure resistance between Black wire at each connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace inoperative heated mirror assembly. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black wire.
