With Analog VOM

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Access Data Link Connector (DLC) located in engine compartment, near battery. Using jumper wire, connect terminal "M" (TBS) and terminal "E" (GND) on DLC connector. Using an analog voltmeter, connect positive voltmeter lead to terminal "G" (FBS) at DLC connector. Connect negative volt-meter lead to ground. See Fig 1 .
  2. Turn ignition on. Observe VOM needle. Trouble codes are represented as pulsations or sweeps of needle. Trouble codes will be repeated after all codes have been displayed once. Record trouble codes. Clear codes. See CLEARING TROUBLE CODES  . Repeat procedure.
