Pinpoint Test STG - Switch To Ground

NOTE: Enter this test only when directed here from QUICK TESTS or another PINPOINT TEST.
STG CIRCUIT PIN IDENTIFICATION

PSP 1P 19 BLU/YEL
PCS 1Q 10 GRN/WHT
HPS (1) 2I 50 BLU
BLMT 1R 22 ORG/BLU
PNP/CPP 1V 43 GRN/BLK
IDL 1N 18 RED
(1) Output voltage should always be 5 volts regardless of switch position.

1)  Turn ignition off. Install BOB, leaving PCM connected. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between BOB test pin for switch in question and ground. Exercise switch. With switch open, voltage should be greater than 10 volts. With switch closed, voltage should be zero. If switch output is not as specified, go to next step. If switch output is as specified, switch is okay.

2)  Turn ignition off. Unplug PCM connectors. Unplug switch in question. Inspect wire between switch and BOB for shorts or open circuits. If wire is okay, go to next step. Repair wire as necessary.

3)  Inspect for open circuit in wire between switch in question and ground. Repair wire as necessary. If wire is okay, replace switch.
