If no faults were found while performing procedures in BASIC DIAGNOSTIC TESTING article, go to TESTS W/CODES - EEC-IV (5.8L) article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. If no hard codes are found in self-diagnostics, proceed to appropriate TESTS W/O CODES article for diagnosis by symptom (i.e., ROUGH IDLE, NO START, etc.) or intermittent diagnostic procedures.
