Diagnostic Aids

Aftermarket accessories such as a cellular phone, CB transceiver, alarm system or high-powered sound system that is not installed properly or malfunctioning may also cause Code C1137 to set.

1. Check ABS Control Module Connector
   
   Disconnect and inspect Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) 8-pin connector. Clean or repair connector as necessary. Clear codes and retest system. If connector is okay, go to next step.
2. Check Grounds
   
   Locate ABS control module ground connections. One ground is located underneath battery, and another ground is located in left front of engine compartment, behind headlight. Ensure connections are clean and tight. Service connections as necessary. Clear codes and retest. If code resets, replace HCU. If connections are okay, replace HCU.
