Pinpoint Test A - Keypad Does Not Work Properly
- Sit in vehicle. Attempt to operate door locks from interior switches. If doors lock and unlock properly, go to next step. If doors do not lock and unlock properly, go to appropriate DOOR LOCKS & TRUNK RELEASE - POWER article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
- From outside vehicle, attempt to operate door locks from remote transmitter. If doors lock and unlock properly, go to next step. If doors do not lock and unlock properly, repair any lock problem, then go to PINPOINT TEST B .
- From keypad, enter factory code to unlock driver's door. Within 5 seconds, press 3/4 button to unlock passenger doors. If driver's door and passenger's doors unlock, go to next step. If response is not as described, go to step 5).
- Press 7/8 and 9/0 buttons simultaneously. If all doors lock, system is okay. If any door fails to lock, go to next step.
- Press 1/2 button. If courtesy lights come on, go to next step. If courtesy lights do not come on, inspect Light Blue/Yellow wire for open between keypad and 12-pin DDM connector terminal No. 11. If wire is okay, temporarily substitute known good keypad, then retest system.
- Press 7/8 and 9/0 buttons simultaneously. Press 3/4 button. If illuminated entry lights come on, go to next step. If illuminated entry lights do not come on, repair open Light Green/Red wire between keypad and 12-pin DDM connector terminal No. 12.
- Press 7/8 and 9/0 buttons simultaneously. Press 5/6 button. If illuminated entry lights come on, go to next step. If illuminated entry lights do not come on, repair open Yellow/Black wire between keypad and 18-pin DDM connector terminal No. 9.
- Press 7/8 and 9/0 buttons simultaneously. Press 7/8 button. If illuminated entry lights come on, go to next step. If illuminated entry lights do not come on, repair open Yellow wire between keypad and 12-pin DDM connector terminal No. 5.
- Press 7/8 and 9/0 buttons simultaneously. Press 9/0 button. If illuminated entry lights come on, go to next step. If illuminated entry lights do not come on, temporarily substitute known good DDM, then retest system.
- Test for battery voltage at pin No. 5 Light Green/Yellow wire. If battery voltage exists, temporarily substitute known good keypad, then retest system. If battery voltage does not exist, repair appropriate wire from fuse panel.
