Pinpoint Test B - Single Power Window Inoperative

  1. Power Window Operation Check: Turn ignition on. Operate all windows from master power window switch. If all power windows operate, go to next step. If any power window(s) fail to operate. go to PINPOINT TEST A  .
  2. individual Switch Operation Check: Turn ignition on. Turn power window lock out switch off. Attempt to operates all passenger's windows from master switch. If one or more passenger's window fails to operate, go to next step. If all passenger's windows operate, advise customer on proper use of lock out feature.
  3. Individual Window PID Check: Connect NGS tester to DLC. While pressing any passenger's power window switch for downward operation, request Driver's Door Module (DDM) status PID. If PID indicates window switch is down, go to PINPOINT TEST A. If PID does not indicate window switch is down, check Tan/Black wire between master power window switch and DDM. Repair wire if necessary. If wire is good, replace master power window switch. Retest system.
