Pinpoint Test B - Left Power Window Inoperative
- Power Window Master Switch Check: Perform master switch test. See MASTER SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTING. If master switch is good, go to next step (3-door) or go to step 3) (Sedan, 5-door or wagon). If master switch is faulty, replace switch and retest system.
- Circuit Check: Access and unplug power window master switch connector and left front power window motor connector. Measure the resistance of Red/Black and Red/Green wires between master switch connector and motor connector. See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms in both wires, replace power window motor, If resistance is greater 5 ohms in either wire, repair open in wire(s) in question. Retest system.
- Right Power Window Switch Check: Perform single switch test. See SINGLE SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTING. If the right (single) power window switch is good, go to next step. If the right (single) power window switch is faulty, replace switch and retest system.
- Switch Circuit Test: Turn ignition off. Unplug power window master switch and left rear passenger's power window switch connectors. Measure resistance between the Green/Yellow wire at the master switch connector and the Blue/White wire at the left rear switch connector. See Figure . Measure resistance between the White/Red wire at the master switch connector and the Yellow/White wire at the left rear switch connector. If all resistances are less than 5 ohms, go to next step, If any circuit resistance is greater 5 ohms, repair open in wire(s) in question. Retest system.
- Power Window Motor Circuit Test: Turn ignition off. Unplug left rear power window switch and left rear power window motor connectors. Measure resistance between the Green/Yellow wire at the master switch connector and the Blue/White wire at the left rear switch connector. See Figure . Measure resistances of the Red and Green wires between the switch and motor connectors. If resistances are less than 5 ohms, replace power window motor. If any circuit resistance is greater 5 ohms, repair open in wire(s) in question. Retest system.
