Removal and Replacement

NOTE: The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located in the left front area of the engine compartment near the battery.

REMOVAL

1. Open hood and disconnect negative battery cable.

2. Remove PCM electrical connector retaining bolt and unplug connector.

3. Remove two nuts andd PCM cover.

4. Remove PCM

INSTALLATION

1. To install PCM, reverse removal procedure

2. Tighten PCM electrical connector to 5-7 Nm (44-62 in lb).

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the PCM relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16km (10 miles) to relearn the adaptive strategy.
